Once you have placed a number of poems with editors of print or online publications, you’ll be better prepared to approach a publisher of poetry chapbooks or books of poems.

Mary Harwell Sayler has received an ALA Annual Award for nonfiction and a Pushcart nomination for poetry. She also works with other poets through critiques for a minimal fee. As a freelance and assignment writer for Christian and educational publishers, she’s placed 35 books in all genres and over 2,500 poems, articles, devotionals, and children’s stories. She’s also written Kindle e-books for poets and writers. In 2012 Hiraeth Press published her first poetry book, Living in the Nature Poem, and in 2014, Kelsay Books, published her Bible-based poems Outside Eden and her first book of children’s poems, Beach Songs & Wood Chimes. In March 2017, Cladach Press published her poetry book, PRAISE! Later that year, Mary published her poetry book Lost in Faith and the nonfiction book, What the Bible Says About Love, which she hopes will be the first in a series of prayer-a-phrased Bible topics.
