How to go through the eye of a need

Entering the Eye of the Needle
by Mary Harwell Sayler

In the middle of a haystack, strewn
not with straw, but the distractions
of health and wealth and power,
lies the tiny eye of the need.

How can a non-seeker see?

A prick locates the point
of discomfort, piercing
the soul – the needle
threaded, knotting
our need to
God.
